Diamonds and Their Qualities
The term diamond derives from the ancient Greek word “Adamas,” meaning “invincible” – a fitting description for the hardest mineral on Earth. When of high quality and perfectly cut, a diamond achieves unmatched brilliance. The higher the quality, the more intense its fire and radiance.
The Quality Criteria
The 4 Cs – Carat, Colour, Clarity, and Cut – determine the value of a diamond. To this, we add a 5th C: Confidence, which cannot be measured but is just as important.
For our jewellery, we use almost exclusively diamonds of G VS quality, accompanied by a GIA certificate for diamonds over 0.30 carats.
The 5th C – Confidence
Confidence refers to the trust in the diamond dealer
and jeweller. All diamonds over 0.30 ct are accompanied by a certificate from
an internationally recognised gemmological laboratory, such as GIA or SSEF.
This certificate guarantees the highest quality standards and enables the clear
identification and evaluation of the diamond.
